Easter At Crossroads

This past Sunday, for Easter, I had the opportunity to photograph some of the families who attended the new Crossroads Church in Oxford, Ohio.

The church had so many wonderful volunteers helping to make Easter morning special for the families, so it was great to be a small part of that this week.

If you attended Sunday, and had pictures taken, the link to the Crossroads Church Easter gallery is here: http://www.proofing.elisahubbard.com/crossroads. You’ll just need to click on the image(s) of your children or family, right-click the photo, choose “download”, and then click “Original” to save to your computer.

You are also able to order any prints online if you’d like or stop in my studio anytime, (prices online are a few dollars more than in person to cover online costs, so if you want to order it’s best to email or stop in). Otherwise, this is simply my & Crossroads’ free gift to you to download!

Miss Hanna | Balloon Gender Reveal

Miss Hanna | Balloon Gender Reveal

My beautiful cousin Hanna is 20 weeks along today, but these photos we took two weeks ago.

During her routine checkup in the middle of March she was able to find out the gender of the baby early, and she was so excited to share that I came out the next day with balloons for this photo shoot!

In her own words, “I lay awake at night trying to put my life together, but there’s no such thing. Everything happens for a reason & it so happened to be.. That God blessed me with a little boy at a young age. Times will get rough, but I know when I see that little man’s smile and hold him in my arms.. it’ll be worth it! This is exactly how God planned it for me & I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have a son that I’ll grow up with me forever and ever!! He’s a bright & shining gift sent from God and his name is… Lucas Nathaniel!! He’s due August 10th!”

The first batch of photos above she shared first. (As soon as I got home Hanna had me editing so she could post!!) And then the next day, after she knew what she wanted to say, she revealed that she’s been blessed with a son. She was nervous, but I ADORE how truly happy Hanna is in these photos. Her smile just lights up!

I love this girl to the moon & back!

After Hanna announced her reveal, to her friends & the rest of the family, she & my aunt asked me to make something to highlight the meaning of his name: Lucas Nathaniel. (I used pieces from the digital scrapbooking products “Press Lines No. 10” & “Hey There Handsome” by Paislee Press for this page.)

The meaning of the name Lucas is: luminous, bright, and shining light.

The meaning of the name Nathaniel is: Gift of God; God has given.

I love you Hanna!

You life is about to get harder, it already is, but I know you! You ARE a strong one. A loving one. A fighter. You will soon have an amazing son to continue your journey with you of finishing school, starting a career, & becoming a responsible adult. You may be young, but I know you are on a path you can thrive in!

And you’ll be a great mom!

Sibling Love | Southeastern Indiana Photographer

My brother and I are two years and a couple weeks apart in age & these adorable siblings are almost the same. From my “little sister” point of view, that’s just about perfect.

“There’s no other love like the love for a brother. There’s no other love like the love from a brother.” – Astrid Alauda

These two & their mama came to see me on Leap Day and were absolutely the sweetest. While we did some solo images of his sister, Carlam would go drive my old cars at the window or take out the toys I have in my office and pull along Thomas the Train. When Rilla cried he came in with a stuffed animal to offer. When she was getting taken care of by mom, Carlam sat on my lap to watch and see that she was okay.

Once in the studio for sibling photos we had to work a tiny bit harder, but since Carlam always stayed in good humor we still had fun! Plus big brother was awesome for his solo photographs.

In short, these two were a dream to photograph & visit with.

And it doesn’t hurt that this session reminded me of my brother & I when we were little.

Art Journaling | Nursery Rhymes

Art Journaling | Nursery Rhymes

I’ve always loved Mother Goose nursery rhymes, and it probably has something to do with my last name being Hubbard, (though if anyone comments on ‘Old Mother Hubbard’ to my grandma in public she gets a tad annoyed! HA!).

Since the March Art Journaling Challenges are about these childhood stories I thought I’d share here the layouts I made today. There is still one more week of challenges to go, so I’ll just edit this post later & stick that one in next week.

For all of these pages I used parts of Lynne-Marie’s Mother Goose Bundle & a few other goodies. All credits can be found in my gallery!

It’s really been fun stretching my mind more to do art journaling. It’s not one of my strengths in scrapbooking, but it is a genre I love to look at in the galleries. I hope to share more of my digital layouts as the months progress. Also because I didn’t share my February art journaling pages here last month, but I ADORED those challenges as well, I decided to add them to the end of this post just for fun. They were on the theme of shadowboxes!

Here are my nursery rhyme pages:

and my four shadowbox pages:

Happy Scrapping!
